Online learning is different in from traditional face-to-face learning in many respects.  Some individuals feel more comfortable learning in an online environment than others.  Are you a good fit for distance learning?  Find out by completing the SmarterMeasure assessment.  It will take you about 10 minutes from start to finish for this demo assessment but you may log out and complete it later if necessary.  After you login, you will receive an email from SmarterMeasure with a PIN number that will allow you to log back in later or view your results again. 
 
SmarterMeasure is meant to be an interesting experience by which you may learn more about yourself, distance learning, and how to succeed!  Your SmarterMeasure score will not prevent you from registering for online classes.
 
 In this demo, please take your time to rate yourself honestly. It is a tool that will help you assess your strengths and opportunities for growth related to distance learning in 3 areas.

Technical Requirements

To successfully use SmarterMeasure, you must:

  1. Have Internet access with a 28.8K modem or faster. (A minimum 56k modem is recommended to download components such as audio files.)

  4. Set your browser to refresh at every page.
  5. Not be behind a firewall that blocks cookies or blocks access to a secure server.

What is SmarterMeasure?

SmarterMeasure is a tool which helps you determine your level of readiness for taking online courses. On the next few web pages you will be asked questions on topics in the areas of how well you can use a computer; how motivated, organized, and self-directed you are; how you prefer to learn new information; and you will even be able to measure your on-screen SmarterMeasureng speed and comprehension.

But relax, SmarterMeasure is fun. Your scores on this assessment will not prevent you from being able to take online classes, nor will your scores impact your grades in courses you may already be taking. SmarterMeasure is just being provided by your school to help you understand your strengths and weaknesses better as you prepare to learn online. SmarterMeasure is a tool to help you succeed!

After completing SmarterMeasure you will view a webpage which will show you your scores in easy to interpret graphs and text. In addition to that, you may receive an email from your institution letting you know about sources for support in the areas in which you could use some assistance.
